  • Other personal hardships may be considered in certain circumstances.
  • Job loss, in and of itself, is not eligible.
  • The event must have occurred within the previous six months of applying for the grant.

Documentation serves two purposes:

  1. To confirm the event occurred
  2. To confirm that the event is impacting you financially

Every situation is different, but let’s look at some examples of what could serve as appropriate documentation

  • To confirm the event occurred: a medical visit summary describing the injury or diagnosis, a FEMA award letter, an insurance claim, etc.
  • To confirm how the event is impacting you financially: a medical bill showing what you owe after insurance, a funeral home invoice, estimates for repairs, etc.

It’s important that documentation includes your name and the date so that it can be clearly linked to your unexpected event and hardship.

Applications must be submitted online and are reviewed every two weeks by an independent review committee. A limited number of grants are available and awarded based on available funds and eligibility criteria. If approved, please expect up to two weeks to receive the grant. The foundation’s officers, directors, and committee members and their family members are not eligible to receive a grant.
