General Credit Card FAQ
Everyone’s financial situation is different. And because of that, Dupaco takes your situation into factor—along with your credit score—when determining your qualification on our credit cards. A lower credit limit may need to be set at the beginning, and as your credit score improves, your limit can increase. Another option is a share-secured credit card. In this case, the amount of your credit limit is held in your savings as collateral, giving you the benefit of the credit card while improving your credit score. Yes. Visa credit cards are highly recognized and accepted at most every retail or department store, airline, hotel and motel…throughout the United States and all over the world! And if you should ever have questions or problems, you’ll be dealing locally with your credit union—someone you know and trust.
Yes. In addition to charging purchases, your Dupaco Platinum Visa credit card permits you to get ready cash—just about anywhere you need it. The fee for advances is only 1.5% of the amount requested ($3 minimum to a maximum of $15), and finance charges do apply. There’s no special arrangement to repay. Cash advances show up on your monthly statement along with your purchases.
To make cash withdrawals at ATMs worldwide which display the Visa network symbol, a Personal Identification Number (PIN) is required. To set up your PIN, call 1-888-891-2435 from the phone number you have on account at Dupaco, and follow the prompts. If there are two card holders with the same card number, each card holder will need to call separately to PIN each card, which can have different PINs.
Yes. Our Visa card cards feature service benefits at no extra cost, including: Auto Rental Insurance, $500,000 Travel Accident Life Insurance Coverage, Warranty Manager Service, and Travel and Emergency Assistance. Policy provisions apply. Verified By Visa is also available, providing additional security when shopping online.
Platinum Visa Credit Card FAQ
No. Visa accounts cannot be used for overdraft protection. Our standard share account overdraft sequence and Overdraft Privilege* products are currently in effect. Please refer to your membership materials or contact the credit union for more information.
*The Overdraft Privilege service fee is $30 per overdraft, with a maximum of one fee per day. An overdraft fee may be imposed for covering overdrafts made by various transactions—such as ATM withdrawals, everyday card transactions, checks, ACH automatic bill payments, recurring debit card payments, and any other transactions using your checking account number. These overdrafts will be covered automatically, and you will need to repay the fees within 30 days of the account going negative. If your account is overdrawn for longer than 45 days, it will be closed. However, please note that the decision to pay the overdrafts is at our discretion, and we may choose not to pay if your account is not in good standing, you are not making regular deposits, or if you have too many overdrafts.
Rewards Visa Credit Card FAQ
Yes. Balances can be transferred from your other higher interest rate credit cards (including bank, gas, department store, etc.) to help you save on finance charges. It’s simple and there are no cash advance fees. Please note that the balances that you transfer will NOT qualify for points. To initiate a balance transfer, contact Dupaco or request a balance transfer through Shine Online Banking.
When you use your Dupaco Rewards Visa, you will earn 1 point for every $1 you spend.
You can view your available points on your monthly statement or within your account on Shine Online Banking.
No. Balance transfers from another credit card will not earn points.
If a purchase made on your Rewards Visa is returned to the merchant, the earned points will be adjusted accordingly, even if only part of a purchase is returned. Returns may cause a point balance to become negative.
Yes. Your points will expire 2 years after they have been earned. The oldest points will always be used first during redemption.
Points earned on a Dupaco Rewards Visa generally equates to $0.01 per point. Therefore, 5,000 points is approximately $50 in value.
You will have many options for redemption, including a large selection of merchandise, gift cards, travel vouchers and even cash back.
The minimum redemption will vary by category. The maximum is limited to the number of redeemable points available. Cash back is limited to a minimum of $50 and a maximum of $500 for each redemption.
Ready to put your Visa Rewards to good use? Visit Dupaco’s Rewards website—accessible from the Details & Settings tab under your Dupaco Visa Rewards account in Shine Online or Mobile Banking. Explore various rewards such as merchandise, gift cards, and travel. After selecting an item, add it to your cart and follow the prompts to complete the purchase using your points. Hint: Some merchandise items may require additional shipping costs. If you don’t have internet access, you can call 800-513-9415 for assistance with redeeming your points.
Once you have logged into Dupaco’s Rewards website, select Cash Back from the menu at the top of the page. Then, you can select which account you want the cash back to be deposited into, and enter the dollar amount you want to redeem. Members without internet access can call 800-513-9415 for assistance redeeming points.
All of Dupaco’s Rewards Visa redemptions are handled by our redemption partner, RAZR. Any issues, problems, or discrepancies will be handled directly by them.
